Optometry at KVH

Clear vision matters for school, work, driving, and daily life. KVH Optometry provides comprehensive eye exams and treatment for adults, teens, and children over 5 years old.

Eye exams can also help spot signs of other health concerns, including diabetes, high blood pressure, and high cholesterol. We can coordinate with your primary care team when needed.

KVH Optometry offers:

  • Routine eye exams and updated prescriptions
  • Eye health checks to watch for disease and changes over time
  • Care for common eye symptoms like dry eye, blurry vision, and eye strain
  • Care for vision concerns like macular degeneration, cataracts, and diabetic retinopathy
  • Referrals when you need specialty eye care

What to Expect

A comprehensive eye exam includes a series of tests to check both your vision and your eye health. This is different from a basic vision screening, like the ones sometimes done at school.

If you wear glasses or contacts, bring them with you. If you have vision concerns or medical conditions like diabetes, tell us when you schedule so we can plan your visit.

What to Bring to Your Appointment

Bringing a few items can help your visit go smoothly:

  • Photo ID and insurance card
  • Your glasses, contacts, and prescription information, if you have them
  • A list of your medicines, including eye drops and over-the-counter items
  • Any recent eye records or prescriptions from another clinic, if available
  • A short list of questions or symptoms you want to talk about

Especially for Seniors

Annual eye exams are especially important as we age. While vision can change quickly in the senior years, these changes shouldn’t have to limit your quality of life. The earlier eye problems are found, the more we can do to protect your vision. Healthy eyesight supports independence and quality of life, and it helps you stay connected to the people and activities that matter to you.

Some serious eye conditions can develop slowly and may not cause noticeable symptoms right away. A comprehensive eye exam can check for common concerns like glaucoma, cataracts, and macular degeneration. If you have diabetes, your exam can also look for diabetic eye disease.

If an eye disease is diagnosed, we’ll create a custom treatment plan and monitor your condition closely to ensure the best outcome. If you need a level of care not offered at KVH, we’ll make a referral to a trusted partner in our region.
