Common Questions

What is a copay, and when is it due?

A copay is the amount you pay in addition to what your insurance covers. It is usually listed on your insurance card. Copays are due when you arrive for care.

Can I get an itemized statement?

Yes. Call Patient Accounts at (509) 772-2838 and ask for an itemized statement.

What if I don’t have health insurance?

If you are uninsured, a down payment is requested at the time of service. The amount depends on the type of care. If you cannot make the down payment, call us. A payment plan or other options may be available. Call Patient Accounts at (509) 772-2838 to learn more.

Typical down payments include:

  • Hospitalization or overnight stay: $500
  • Outpatient surgery: $500
  • Emergency Department visit: $50
  • Outpatient services like lab, imaging, cardiopulmonary, and therapy: $50

If you do not have health insurance and pay your bill within 30 days, you may be eligible for a 20% prompt pay discount.

What if I was injured at work?

If you were injured at work:

  • Report the injury to your employer as soon as possible
  • Tell your employer you received care at Klickitat Valley Health
  • Tell KVH staff this was a work-related injury and provide your employer’s name and address

Work-related injury billing requires specific forms. Returning forms quickly helps prevent delays. KVH does not enter into employer and employee disputes about coverage.

What if I was injured in an auto accident or on someone’s property?

If your injury was caused by an auto accident or happened on someone’s property:

  • Provide current health insurance and auto insurance information
  • Complete any required forms as soon as possible

KVH does not enter into disputes about coverage. KVH may file a medical lien when services are related to an auto or property accident. A certified letter is sent if a lien is filed.
