Immunizations at KVH

Vaccines help protect you, your family, and our community from serious illness. At KVH Family Medicine, immunizations are part of preventive care, which means care that helps prevent illness before it starts. Your primary care provider will review your vaccine needs with you and answer questions with respect and plain language.

Choosing vaccines is a personal decision. The role of KVH is to provide clear information, listen to concerns, and support patients in making informed choices.

Childhood Vaccines

KVH Family Medicine participates in the Washington State Childhood Vaccine Program. This program provides recommended vaccines for children under age 19 and helps reduce cost barriers. Vaccines are provided according to care guidelines, regardless of insurance coverage.

To schedule childhood vaccines or ask about coverage and cost, call (509) 773-4017. If you have it, it’s helpful to bring your child’s vaccine record to your appointment.

Adult Vaccines

Adults age 19 and older can receive vaccines based on age, health conditions, work or travel needs, and CDC recommendations. Your provider will review what you may need and explain options.

Flu Shots

Getting a flu shot each year can help lower your risk of getting the flu or having a more severe illness. KVH Family Medicine typically begins offering flu shots in early September.

The flu shot is recommended for anyone age 6 months and older. It is especially important for:

  • Children ages 6 months to 4 years
  • Pregnant patients
  • Adults age 50 and older
  • People with chronic health conditions
  • People who live in long-term care settings
  • Caregivers and household members of people at higher risk

Other Vaccines

KVH Family Medicine offers other vaccines based on need and availability. If you are not sure what you need, your primary care provider can review your record and talk through options. Common vaccines include:

  • Tetanus, diphtheria, pertussis (Tdap or Td)
  • Measles, mumps, rubella (MMR)
  • Varicella or chickenpox
  • Shingles
  • Pneumonia
  • COVID-19
