Volunteering at KVH is a meaningful way to give back while building lasting connections with others who care about our community. Volunteers strengthen their own well-being by being part of a welcoming, supportive environment and have the chance to bring their unique talents and interests to life in hands-on ways that support patients, families, and staff. Along the way, volunteers are valued and appreciated through recognition, small perks like meals and vaccines, and the heartfelt gratitude of the KVH community.

Whether you prefer working behind the scenes or actively engaging with patients, there’s a place for you at KVH. We offer volunteer, job shadow, and worksite learning opportunities designed to fit a variety of interests, goals, and abilities.

Volunteer Requirements

The minimum age to volunteer at KVH is 16 (18+ for certain roles).

Time Commitment:

• Volunteers: One 3-hour shift per week for at least 6 months.
• Worksite Learners: One 2-hour shift per week for one high school term.
• Job Shadowing: Typically 1-2 days.
• Summer/Temporary: 60+hours (ideal for high school students and seasonal residents)

• We’ll contact you by email to schedule an intervie

Step 2:

• Attend an interview (remote or in-person)

Step 3:

• Complete required paperwork
• We’ll also performa background check

Step 4:

Visit our Wellness Nurse for a health screening, including a TB test

Required Vaccines: MMR, Varicella (Chickenpox), Tdap, Covid-19*, Influenza (Flu)*

*You may decline some vaccines
