Jean MacGillivray, MD, FRCSC


Dr. Jean MacGillivray, MD, FRCSC is a board-certified General Surgeon practicing in the Surgery Department at Klickitat Valley Health, where she also serves as Chief of Staff. She earned her Doctor of Medicine degree from Dalhousie University in Nova Scotia and completed her General Surgery residency through the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada.

Dr. MacGillivray brings decades of experience in surgical care, leadership, and medical education. Her previous clinical roles include serving as a General Surgeon at several hospitals across Canada, such as St. Martha’s Regional Hospital, Inverness Consolidated Memorial Hospital, and Guelph General Hospital. She also held a position as a Surgeon at the Breast Health Clinic and served as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Surgery at Dalhousie University.

In addition to her clinical and academic work, Dr. MacGillivray has played an active role in healthcare leadership and public health initiatives. She has served on the Clinical Advisory Board, participated in colon cancer screening and cancer care programs, and was the Medical Staff President at St. Martha’s Regional Hospital.

Dr. MacGillivray is a member of the Canadian Association of General Surgeons and the American Medical Association, and she continues to advocate for quality surgical care and community health improvement through her leadership at KVH.
