WeiChin Chen, MD
Dr. Weichin Chen, MD is a Board-Certified Orthopedic Surgeon with a broad scope of expertise in general orthopedics, with special emphasis on sports medicine, trauma, and hand, foot, and ankle conditions. He earned his Doctor of Medicine (MD) from Wake Forest University School of Medicine and completed his orthopedic surgery residency at Tripler Army Medical Center in Honolulu, Hawaii. He is board certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery.
A former Major in the United States Army, Dr. Chen brings a wealth of experience from his military service, including a deployment to Jalalabad, Afghanistan, where he provided advanced orthopedic care to CIA personnel, special forces, and Tri-service members. He also served as an academic professor at Tripler Army Medical Center for four years, treating active-duty service members, veterans, dependents, and civilians. In recognition of his commitment to education, he was honored as Resident Teacher of the Year in 2015.
In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Chen offers independent medical examinations (IMEs) for Worker’s Compensation claims in Hawaii, Oregon, and Washington, providing expert medico-legal evaluations.
Dr. Chen is currently practicing Orthopedic Surgery at Klickitat Valley Health, bringing his extensive surgical and military medical background to serve the community. A passionate big wave surfer and longtime resident of Hawaii’s North Shore, he is excited to explore the outdoor opportunities of the region while continuing to deliver high-quality orthopedic care.
