WeiChin Chen, MD


Dr. Chen earned his Doctorate of Medicine (M.D.) at the Wake Forest University School of Medicine. As a former Major in the United States Army, he completed his orthopedic residency at the United States Tripler Army Medical Center in Honolulu, Hawaii.

Dr. Chen also practiced at Tripler Army Medical Center as an academic professor for four years, taking care of active duty members, dependents, veterans, and also civilians. He was named Resident Teacher of the Year in 2015. His active duty includes deployment to Jalabad, Afghanistan, where he administered care to CIA, special forces, and Tri-service members.

Along with being a general orthopedic surgeon, Dr. Chen provides medico-legal services as an independent medical examiner in Hawaii, Oregon, and Washington for Worker’s Compensation claims.

Dr. Chen currently practices as a ABOS Board Certified general orthopedic surgeon, with emphasis on sports medicine, trauma, hand, foot and ankle issues.

As a resident of Hawaii’s North Shore, Dr. Chen is an avid big wave surfer and looks forward to exploring new territory in Klickitat County and the Pacific Northwest.
